Video game publisher Activision has offered some more details on the first ever Call of Duty fan driven convention, with the biggest announcement being that all those who will attend the event will be given a special redemption code that will allow them to get a free copy of the Hardened Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Activision also talked about the Call of Duty 1 Million Tournament which is sponsored by Microsoft through the Xbox 360 brand, saying that the matches will be all played in Modern Warfare 3 and that the leading team will pick up a prize of 400,000 dollars.

All those who attend the Call of Duty XP Will also be able to get hands-on with the new game in the series and will also be given access to tournaments using older games.

Original programming based upon the franchise will also be offered, including a just-announced collaboration with dumbdumb, a production company that is being led by Jason Bateman and Will Arnett.

Gamers will also be able to see a live action short movie from WE Can Pretend and a new series of Pro vs. G.I. Joe clips, with gamers and celebrities teaming up to play against United States military personnel using Xbox Live.

The Scrapyard level will also be recreated in order to host paintball matches and The Pit training sequences from Modern Warfare 2 will also be remade in the real world and players will be able to test their times on it.

Other attractions include a museum, an armory and Burgertown fast food products.

The Call of Duty XP event takes place in Playa Vista in Los Angeles, California, and all the revenue that Activision derives from it will be donated to its own Call of Duty Endowment, which is designed to do charity work on behalf of army personnel who are returning from combat.
