The first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops, developed by Treyarch and published by Activision Blizzard, has managed to hold on to the number one position it has occupied in time for Christmas in the United Kingdom for one more week, taking the video game industry into 2011.

The game has already been certified as being the best selling video game of this year, just as Modern Warfare 2 was for 2009, and alongside the 3D blockbuster Avatar, it has been the only entertainment product to get over the 1 billion dollars in sales mark.

FIFA 11 from EA Sports, the most popular football simulation title, has also managed to consolidate its number two position, just as the Premier League is entering the crucial period of non stop matches between Christmas and New Year's Eve,

The top three remains unchanged, with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remaining glued to third spot in the United Kingdom video game chart.

Just Dance 2 from Ubisoft continues to draw gamers in with its catchy pop tunes and its easy to master dance sequences while Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood continues a good run of form and hangs on to fifth place in the chart.

Gran Turismo 5 sits at number six as players await the promised downloadable content that will deliver more Premium detailed cars to the experience while The Sims 3 makes a huge jump, coming into the top ten at 7 after languishing at 13 for a few weeks.

Kinect Sports from Microsoft, a mini game collection built around the concept of motion tracking, has also moved up to eight place from 15.

Michael Jackson: The Experience, from Ubisoft, is also on the rise, coming in at nine while Medal of Honor from Electronic Arts slid down two places from eight to ten.

Donkey Kong Country Returns and Dance Central are outside of the top ten.
