Developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision confirm that their upcoming first person shooter Call of Duty: Ghosts will include voice commands on the new Xbox One home console from Microsoft.

Eric Hirshberg, who leads the publishing division at Activision, tells VentureBeat that, "We think the improvements to Kinect really excite us because of the level of responsiveness and detail."

He adds, "I thought that the demo they did with the voice commands on television, the instant changing between games and music, was really compelling."

More information on exactly how players will be able to use voice commands in Call of Duty: Ghosts will be offered closer to launch date.

Infinity Ward has apparently found a way to make the feature more than gimmick, creating situations where it enhances gameplay.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be a launch title for the Xbox One.
