Includes ads on the screen

FISHLABS Entertainment, a well-known developer and publisher of smartphone games, has recently revealed that it will publish a free US version of its successful 3D title Burning Tires for the iPhone and iPod touch. Although it has already been downloaded over 3 million times worldwide, the company seems to be the first among the publishers that are offering a free version of a successful iPhone and iPod touch title with iAd integration.

This means that even if your downloaded game is free to play, it will include ads. Still, the advertising is displayed unobtrusively on the upper edge of the screen and is automatically changed, depending on the volume of advertising.

If players tap a banner, the ad is shown in full-screen, while the game is paused in the background. It appears that without the iAd integration system, fans of the genre would've been unable to get the game for free.

Ad-funded mobile games are nothing new, but with iAd, Apple has created a format that does not cause media discontinuity, thanks to its multimedia capabilities and seamless integration. As a premium manufacturer, Apple is also able to market premium ads at fair prices. Ultimately, everyone wins. Players get free access to high-quality content, brands can present themselves and their products in a premium environment with an enormous reach, and developers have another option to monetize their costly development,” says Michael Schade, CEO of FISHLABS Entertainment GmbH.

The game's objective is to face down your opponent with huge off-roaders over a few different tracks like desert, ice and lava. Players can take advantage of seven fun racers with individual driving characteristics, intuitive controls combined with sophisticated 3D driving physics, as well as action replay with dynamic cameras that let players view their success after the race.

Players can also convert the free version of Burning Tires to an ad-free full version directly in the game for €0.79.
