Bristol Palin responds to Kathy Griffin’s weight comments: you’re not really the one to talk

Last year, during the VH1 Divas Salute the Troops, host Kathy Griffin took a very un-elegant swipe at Bristol Palin, calling her out for reportedly gaining weight while on DWTS. Bristol is now fighting back.

As we also noted at the time, Griffin said Bristol was probably the only contestant in the history of Dancing With the Stars not to lose weight on the show – she even gained some, which should have earned her the nickname of “white precious,” she said.

In a recent interview with E! Online, cited by PopEater, Bristol took the time out to address that comment and to say that she chose not to pay any attention to it because it was coming from who it was coming.

In other words, Kathy is not really the person to be calling the kettle black, especially since she has a long and well documented history with plastic surgery and crazy diets.

As such, she’s not the right person to be pointing fingers.

“It didn’t [hurt my feelings] because it was coming from Kathy Griffin of all people, and I think it just shows her immaturity. I don’t think that stuff’s funny at all. Just very strange,” Bristol says of Griffin’s comments.

Griffin has admitted in the past that she’s out to “get” the Palins, even joking at one point that she needed a “new” target.

“She has a weird hate for our family, just like her coming to Alaska and knocking on our front door. And it’s weird, also, that she would pick on my weight,” Bristol says.

“She’s had botched liposuction procedures and stuff like that, so… It’s just weird that she would pick on something like that for another woman,” she adds.

Bristol also says that she has never met Kathy – and would rather she never did – but that, if the comedienne wanted to apologize for the insult, she would gladly accept her apology.
