Bristol Palin caused quite a stir a few days ago when she made her first public appearance in a while, rocking a slimmer body and a very different face from the one her fans were used to. Speaking with Us Magazine, Bristol denies she’s had any kind of plastic surgery.

Of course, that’s not to say she did not go under the knife at all.

Bristol admits she’s had surgery on her face, but it was not for cosmetic purposes: because she had an improper bite, she had it corrected with surgery at the end of last year.

That, coupled with the fact that she’s lost a lot of weight, contributed to her so-called altered appearance.

“It’s not plastic surgery,” she tells the celebrity magazine of her angled jaw and definitely sharper chin.

“I had corrective jaw surgery [in December 2010],” Bristol explains. She also says that she’s lost a lot of weight by going on an all-liquid diet after the surgery, so that wasn’t necessarily intentional either.

Nevertheless, at least Bristol is not oblivious to why people reacted this way when she came out with the “new” face: she knows she looks different.

“Yes. It improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons... so my jaw and teeth could properly realign... I don’t obsess over my face,” she explains.

“I am absolutely thrilled with the results. I look older, more mature, and don’t have as much of a chubby little baby face!” she gushes.

As we also noted the other day, word online had it that Bristol got her new face thanks to a series of procedures, like lipo under the chin and on the cheeks, chin implant, Botox, fillers in the upper lip, and perhaps cheek implants as well.

Even though she addressed the topic publicly, not many are buying her explanation because, they say on celebrity blogs and forums, she sounds like all those other celebrities who get surgery on their nose for a smaller one, and then say they had a deviated septum.
