Borderlands, the stylized post apocalyptic role playing game from Gearbox Software, will soon receive a new free title update which will take it to 1.41, and will also increase the level cap and add a few new features to the game.

While most of the talk about Borderlands recently has been limited to the discussion about the demo codes for Duke Nukem Forever, the team at Gearbox Software has just revealed what the new title update will do to the game.

Players who have been demanding an increase in level cap, even if they already purchase the Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC which increased it from 50 to 61, will certainly be delighted by this new update.

Borderlands update 1.41 will add eight more levels to the current cap, and balance out the game to accustom the new limit.

Here are the things that will be included in the Title Update: -Level cap increase for all players of 8 levels. That means that all Borderlands players will now be able to achieve a new maximum level of 58. -Owners of The Secret Armory of General Knoxx can achieve a record setting increase to a maximum level of 69. -End game players that have completed playthrough 2 will see enemies scale to the new levels up to the new level cap. That means that if you’ve completed everything, you can play through the game again and again at a challenging level in order to find better and better loot. -Item drops (with the exception of COM Decks) will also scale with higher level enemies to the new level cap. That means that this Title Update features the highest level weapons to date! -Other fixes, including DLC4 Achievement/Trophy glitches that have affected some users and will be corrected to properly award players for obtaining these achievements no matter which order they were completed in.

It sounds pretty good doesn't it?

You're going to have to wait some more though, as the title update is still in the process of being approved by platform owners like Valve, Sony or Microsoft, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, respectively.

According to Gearbox, the patch will hit "within a couple of weeks, possibly sooner."
