On Wednesday, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion announced the release of two new handsets on the market in Malaysia, namely the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and the BlackBerry Curve 9380.

Both handsets were unveiled to the world only a few weeks ago, and both of them pack the BlackBerry 7 operating system on board, along with touch designs.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 features the popular Bold form factor, complemented by a touchscreen display and a compact design.

The smartphone features a fast 1GHz application processor, along with 8GB of onboard memory and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The device pairs the high-resolution screen and the highly tactile keyboard with the features and capabilities of the BlackBerry 7 OS, which translates into a great experience, when it comes to browsing over the Internet, running apps, and enjoying multimedia.

The new BlackBerry Curve 9380 is the very first phone in the series to include touch capabilities on a large 3.2-inch display.

The handset was designed to keep users connected at all times with their friends and family over social networking sites, and comes with BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), Facebook, Twitter and Social Feeds apps, capable of a great mobile experience.

It also comes with a fast application processor inside, as well as with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for video recording and fast sharing features.

“We are excited to launch these two new BlackBerry 7 smartphones in Malaysia,” Nick Horton, vice president, Indochina at RIM said.

“The BlackBerry Bold 9790 and the BlackBerry Curve 9380 offer impressively slim and stylish designs with enhanced communications, multimedia, productivity and social connectivity features.”

The new BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380 both deliver great capabilities powered by the BlackBerry 7 OS, such as voice-activated searches, Augmented Reality and NFC (Near Field Communications), or the aforementioned fast web browser.
