Wireless carrier Tata Indicom has added a new device to its offering, the BlackBerry Bold 9650, the first Bold device from Research In Motion to arrive on shelves with support for both CDMA and GSM networks.

The new mobile phone was made available for purchase in the country with a price tag of Rs. 25,190 (about $567) attached to it, though the carrier also has a special offering place for those interested in getting the handset.

Bold 9650 buyers will receive a free data pack worth Rs. 900 per month, along with 500 MB of tethered modem data usage per month, for the first two months of service.

The specifications list of the new device also includes a 2.44-inch screen (480 x 360 pixel resolution), complemented by a QWERTY keyboard and an optical trackpad in a candybar form factor, and 512MB of memory.

Of course, the handset comes with a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, as well as with great connectivity options with Wi-Fi, Bloetooth, GPS and more.

At the same time, the new smartphone comes to shelves with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, and a 1400 mAh battery that can offer up to 5 hours of talk time, or up to 13 days of standby time.

We should also mention that, the same as other BlackBerry devices, the Bold 9650 comes with great support for email and messaging services, as well as with fast access to social networking sites.

“As the youngest dual-technology telecom service provider in India, the addition of a Smartphone like the BlackBerry Bold 9650 to our portfolio of products and services from Research In Motion is an important step in strengthening our offerings to consumers,” Sunil Batra, President of CDMA Operations at Tata Teleservices Limited, said.

“Our pan-India reach, supported by the traditionally strong speeds on TTL’s cutting-edge CDMA network, will provide users with an exceptional voice and data communication experience, enhanced by the ability to share and experience multimedia, chat and social networking on the go.”
