14 DAY TRIAL // Owners of BlackBerry smartphones from Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion have had the option to try out Spotify on their devices, and they can now download and install a new flavor of the software.
Available only as a preview until now, the mobile application has been released in full, and can be downloaded from the company’s mobile website.
“We are excited to let you know that our BlackBerry app is no longer a Preview release and is now available to any user with a compatible phone,” the company notes in a recent blog post.
The new release was made available with support for most of the latest handsets from the company, though there are still some models that are not supported at the moment.
“Compatible phones include Bold 9780, Bold 9700, Curve 9300, Bold 9000, Curve 8520. Currently the app only supports phones running on GSM networks. CDMA-network phones and the Torch 9800 are not compatible,” Spotify notes.
Users who would like to give the application a try will benefit from a 48-hour free trial straight from the mobile application. They can also sign up for a 30-day free trial to get a better understanding of how it works.
However, to continue using the app afterwards, people will need to sign up for a Spotify Premium subscription, which will enable them to freely stream music from the Spotify catalogue.
The application enables users to stream music over all kinds of wireless networks, including 2G/3G and WiFi, while offering a wide range of other features, such as offline mode for up to three devices, and more.
Spotify offers access to a catalogue of millions of tracks, as well as the possibility to easily create playlists and sync them, or to star favorite tracks, artists or albums.
