Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion is already known to be working on a sequel to the already popular BlackBerry Tour 9630 that went live on the market in the second half of the last year, and now a confirmation on the company's plans has emerged into the wild. A recent note spotted on the BlackBerry's Facebook page is what unveiled that the handset is to arrive soon.

The BlackBerry Tour 9650 is coming! Check back soon for official news!” is what the Facebook note read, according to the guys over at CrackBerry. However, it seems that the post has been removed from the site since, though a screenshot with the “announcement” is still available. How soon the launch will take place is something that we'll learn at a future moment, it seems.

For what it's worth, this is not the first time when rumors on the near launch of BlackBerry Tour 9650 emerged on the Internet. The phone has been already spotted in Verizon's internal systems, and the next month or two would be the best time frame to hope for. A Q1 launch would be great indeed, especially since the device is said to be a welcome upgrade for the first Tour.

Among the features the new BlackBerry smartphone is expected to arrive on the market with, compared to the previous model, we can count a faster processor, impressive Wi-Fi connectivity and a great working trackpad, a fast typing QWERTY keyboard, and more. The first Tour proved a great device right from the start, and the second one might do just the same after all.

As many of you might already know, RIM has delivered last year two sequels to some of its most popular handsets on the market, including the BlackBerry Bold 2 and the Storm 2, so the Tour 2 is something that seems to fit the company's latest trends. Coming to the market pretty soon after the original, the second Tour should become available via both Verizon and Sprint in the US.
