On a two-year agreement

SunCom Wireless has announced that it will now be offering its customers Research In Motion's Blackberry Pearl. It is the first wireless carrier to offer the Pearl in a new two-toned, silver and black finish.

The slim handset provides a convenient combination between business and entertainment features ensuring that the user can easily use it both in the office and in their spare time. It comes with all the renowned capabilities that you've grown to expect from a Blackberry device including email, web browsing and organizer.

The Pearl includes a unique trackball navigation system and a QWERTY keyboard for easier and quicker e-mail composing, Blackberry Push Technology, Internet service support that allows access to up to 10 supported email accounts, SMS and MMS and Instant messaging support so that the user has several options to keep in touch with the office and family or friends.

Moreover, it brings multimedia capabilities and the user will be able to take snapshots with the 1.3 megapixel camera with 5x digital zoom and flash, listen to music, and store a considerable number of tracks on a MicroSD memory card. Media files supported include MP3, AAC as well as MPEG4 and H.263 video formats.

The quad-band device will also provide maps, that can be launched from the address book and step-by-step navigation. Although it packs all the Blackberry specific features and more, it measures 4.2 x 1.97 x 0.55 inches and weighs 3.1 ounces, being one of the most lightweight and small handsets of this type. RIM's Blackberry Pearl can currently be pre-ordered on SunCom at $199.99 on a two-year agreement.
