TDC Mobil and Research In Motion launched later last week the BlackBerry Pearl smartphone in Denmark, expanding the portfolio of BlackBerry models available to TDC customers.

The small, smart and stylish BlackBerry Pearl is ideal for mobile professionals looking for a powerful, compact and lightweight smartphone in a traditional mobile phone form factor. In addition to popular and proven features such as phone, "push-based" email, text messaging, organizer and other mobile applications, the BlackBerry Pearl also includes a digital camera, media player and an expandable memory slot.

Like other BlackBerry smartphones, the Pearl is much more than just a mobile phone. The unique "push-based" BlackBerry email services give users synchronized access to both personal and corporate email accounts, with attachment viewing of a wide range of popular file types. The BlackBerry platform is also optimized for wireless efficiency with data compression that results in lower data usage and longer battery life.

"Danish companies are really seeing the advantages of the BlackBerry platform, which is the leading wireless solution for mobile professionals who want to stay in touch and be productive while on the go. We are very happy to introduce the BlackBerry Pearl, which makes users' working lives even easier to manage," said Peter Ibsen, Vice-President for TDC Mobil.

TDC Mobil has been providing BlackBerry solutions to its customers for the past two years and has seen high levels of interest in the technology since its introduction. The BlackBerry Pearl is the fifth addition to the portfolio of BlackBerry smartphones available from TDC, joining the BlackBerry 7100v, BlackBerry 7290v, BlackBerry 8700v and BlackBerry 8707v.
