Romanian mobile users can, as of today, feel more important than the ones in the US, as RIM and Orange have just announced the availability of BlackBerry Bold 9000 in Romania. Thus, Orange proved to be faster than AT&T, which keeps on delaying the release of its Bold in North America (not that Romanian customers would have reasons to care about that).

The latest high-end device to come from Research in Motion, BlackBerry Bold, brings both an elegant look and a myriad of features that you won't find embedded in too many smartphones.

The handset's highlights include: a wide TFT 65K-color display with 480 x 320 pixels, a full QWERTY keyboard for fast text input, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), tri-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity (850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz), built-in GPS and BlackBerry Maps, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g, full HTML browser, BlackBerry email solutions, Office document reader and editor, a 2 Megapixel camera with flash and video recording, Bluetooth 2.0, Media player, 1GB of internal memory and microSD/SDHC card support (Orange offers a 1GB card for free, so you'll get a total storage space of 2GB). The Bold also packs a 1500 mAh battery said to last up to five hours in talk-time mode or up to 22 days in stand-by mode.

“We are glad to offer our customers the 3G-enabled BlackBerry Bold smartphone,” declared Razvan Sturza, Product Manager at Orange Romania. “Orange continues to bring the latest products and solutions to the Romanian market and currently offers four BlackBerry smartphones and a wide range of BlackBerry smartphone tariff plans.”

Mark Guibert, Vice President, Corporate Marketing, RIM, added, “The new BlackBerry Bold smartphone represents a tremendous step forward in business-grade smartphones and lives up to its name with incredible functionality and performance. Customers around the world are reacting very positively to the BlackBerry Bold and we are pleased to work with Orange to bring this impressive smartphone to their customers in Romania”.

BlackBerry Bold can be bought via Orange Romania's shops for prices ranging from 349 to 439 Euros (1265 - 1590 RON), depending on the contract and data plan you choose. Not exactly what we'd call an affordable device, is it?
