Wireless carrier T-Mobile is gearing up for the release of a new BlackBerry device on its airwaves, the BlackBerry 8520, an entry-level phone that is expected to replace the BlackBerry 8320 in the carrier's offering. While this might not be a secret to anyone, little was known until now about the launch date of the handset, which seems to have been slated fro August 5.

According to the latest news on the Web, the device is expected to become available on about all channels, including Retail stores, RPS and Walmart, and will come for employees and upgrades alike. The launch expectations have been recently narrowed with the announcement regarding the BlackBerry Night at the Movies, which will run for two weeks starting yesterday, yet now it has been confirmed that the beginning of August is the lucky time frame.

What the new BlackBerry Curve 8520 (aka Gemini) is set to bring to users is a touch-sensitive trackpad, the first of the kind in the BlackBerry Curve family, along with EDGE connectivity, a camera with no flash and so long. To cut the story short, the device has been designed so as to come as an entry-level handset and so it will.

In related news, we learn that T-Mobile is preparing the launch of yet another long expected handset for the beginning of August, the HTC Touch Pro2. According to the news, this phone should land with the carrier on August 12, when users will have the opportunity to purchase it via all channels. The device, as many of you might already know, is set to replace the older T-Mobile Wing in the company's offering.

The new handset comes to the operator's airwaves running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile (6.1 for the beginning, with upgrade option to 6.5), while featuring a touchscreen display, a full-QWERTY keypad, and a wide range of connectivity options. Users will be enabled to connect seamlessly to social networking sites with the upcoming device, while also enjoying its 3G and Sync with Microsoft Outlook capabilities.
