The latest version of Research In Motions's BlackBerry OS, namely the BlackBerry 6 platform, came to the market with a new Browser packed inside it, and the company has just announced the availability of documentation for developers interested in benefiting from the solution.

When announcing the new BlackBerry Browser in BlackBerry 6, the Canadian smartphone maker announced that it should bring a new level of performance for handsets powered by the OS, and that the developer community should also benefit a lot from the application's capabilities.

“The BlackBerry Browser documentation page has been recently updated to include developer manuals and reference guides for the new browser on BlackBerry 6,” the company announced via a post on the BlackBerry Developer's Blog.

Among the new documents that developers can download from the company's developer portal, we can count Feature and Technical Overview, HTML Reference Guide, JavaScript Reference Guide, and CSS Reference Guide.

The Feature and Technical Overview document is aimed at offering a detailed overview of the key features of the new browser in RIM's OS, including info on architecture and supported content types for the new web platform.

Here's what it notes on the other documents available online: - HTML Reference Guide – includes information about supported HTML elements (including HTML5), attributes and input type modes. - JavaScript Reference Guide – contains technical details about the various supported JavaScript APIs, such as Core, Events, Canvas, Geolocation, XmlHTTPRequest, etc. - CSS Reference Guide – a robust guide that organizes the supported CSS properties (including CSS3) into logical categories such as text, tables, backgrounds, etc.

Based on the WebKit rendering engine, the new mobile browser in BlackBerry OS 6 comes with support for more technologies than before, including HTML5.

At the same time, the development team announced that it should offer better JavaScript execution, along with a new UI, tabbed browsing, pinch to zoom, unified URL, and other features more.
