Beyonce Thinks Lady Gaga Is ‘Tacky,’ Wants to Take Her Down

They’ve worked together in the past (and to amazing results) and they were, until not long ago, friends. Now, Beyonce is determined to take down “tacky” Lady Gaga, having grown sick of her antics, says a new report.

The two singers basically wrote music history when they got together to record “Telephone” and, most importantly, to shoot the official video for it, which remains to this day one of the most watched music videos online.

Afterwards, there were reports that the two were becoming very close friends – and then there was complete radio silence, particularly in recent months.

A new report in the print issue of the National Enquirer (story via here) has a possible explanation for that: Beyonce has been growing tired of Lady Gaga and the countless ways she has of drawing attention to herself.

Take her grand entrance at the Grammys 2011, for instance: Gaga “walked” the red carpet inside a giant plastic egg carried on the shoulders of 4 men, whereas the rest of the artists had to do it the traditional way.

Beyonce believes that Gaga is “cheating” by using all these tricks to get media attention, whereas all the other artists have only their talent to rely on (which is how it should always be).

“Beyonce thought Gaga’s entrance [at the Grammy’s] was way over the top and ridiculously self-serving. Every other artist worked the red carpet in a traditional manner, but Gaga made it all about her,” a spy tells the Enquirer.

So upset was Beyonce that she made it a point of ignoring Gaga throughout the Grammy ceremony, which, in turn, made Gaga angry – enough to gossip about Beyonce to friends so loudly that everybody around could hear.

Gaga will “confront” Beyonce about it next time they meet, says the insider, and will demand an apology of her.

Whether Beyonce will budge is an entirely different matter altogether.

“Beyonce believes that musicians should let their talent do the talking, and she finds it really tacky that Gaga constantly tries to one-up everyone with her ridiculous fashion statements,” adds the source.

“She telling people that she wants to take Gaga down a few pegs,” the spy claims.
