The Super Bowl is not just a wonderful occasion for football fans to come together for a one of a kind sporting event: it’s also the best occasion ever for companies to advertise their products and for movie studios to reveal teasers of their upcoming blockbusters.

Several 30-second teasers ran during commercial breaks at the Super Bowl, but some of them really stood out because they’re from highly anticipated films.

“Fast Five,” the latest installment in the once-titled “The Fast and the Furious” franchise, newcomer “Thor” and the latest “Pirates on the Caribbean” film, “On Stranger Tides,” all got new teasers.

However, the most appreciated of the lot were teasers for superhero or alien films, like “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Transformers: The Dark of the Moon,” “Cowboys & Aliens” and “Super 8.”

Before the Super Bowl, Marvel revealed the first official poster for “Captain America,” starring Chris Evans. The first teaser trailer is also out.

It shows how America’s number one hero was turned from a scrawny little boy into the ultimate soldier, while also offering a proper look at Evans’ insanely ripped torso.

It’s a known fact the actor, who has always been in excellent shape, put in some extra work to gain muscle mass.

“Cowboys & Aliens” also got a brand new teaser and, while it includes scenes that have already been seen in previous posters, it also offered a bit more to fans of alien action movies.

For starters, it would seem that the pace of the film will be very accelerated; secondly, fans got a better look at the aliens attacking the cowboys (the title really does say it all); third but not last, fans got confirmation that the film will rely heavily on special FX.

Since 2010 was the year of the vampire and, by the looks of it, 2011 will be as well, the Super Bowl also included a teaser of Paul Bettany’s “Priest.”

The film tells the story of a priest who disobeys direct orders and goes to war against vampires and, while sending forth very strong “Blade” vibes, it also seems darker, edgier and more action-packed.

“Transformers: The Dark of the Moon” and “Super 8” unleashed the aliens onto the Super Bowl audience. One is directed by Michael Bay and will come in 3D, the other is a super secret project from director J.J. Abrams and producer Steven Spielberg.

Both look awesome.
