DICE, the developer of the Battlefield franchise, has released an official statement to fans concerning the recent confirmation of Battlefield 4, the next installment in the series, and revealed that it can’t actually say anything concrete about the game just yet.

Battlefield 3 came out last October and is still quite popular largely thanks to the expansions that were released for it, as well as the special Battlefield Premium bundle.

Fans of the Battlefield series were surprised to hear yesterday that Battlefield 4 is already in development and that a beta stage for the game will be organized in
fall of 2013.

As you can imagine, DICE didn’t want fans to find out about its next big project through a leaked leaflet for Medal of Honor: Warfighter, so it’s decided to post a statement about Battlefield 4 and its future plans.

“The team at DICE is hard at work on the next entry in the Battlefield series, and to ensure access to the exclusive Battlefield 4 beta, shooter fans can pre-order Medal of Honor Warfighter today. While there is no further Battlefield 4 news at this point – remember, if you don’t see it published here, it’s just rumor and speculation – we did want to take this opportunity to share a few thoughts on the state of the Battlefield franchise.”

The studio revealed that it’s extremely proud of the Battlefield 3 community and emphasized that it would continue to grow the game’s multiplayer aspect with upcoming expansions like next month’s Armored Kill, as well as the End Game and Aftermath ones.

“We’re not ready to talk about Battlefield 4 yet - in the meantime, we hope you will continue to enjoy Battlefield 3 and all the Battlefield 3 Premium content still to come. We invite you to check out Danger Close Studio’s Medal of Honor Warfighter, which is also powered by the Frostbite 2 engine and the free social network, Battlelog. Don’t forget that pre-ordering Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition (at no extra cost) guarantees access to the exclusive Battlefield 4 Beta.”

Given this lack of info, you can expect to hear plenty of rumors and speculation about Battlefield 4 until an official presentation is made by Electronic Arts and DICE.

I don't believe a word of it,BF3 is a lousy successor to BF2,it's a completely different game altogether.
For starters,it's NOT 'popular' at all, judging by the empty servers, for obvious reasons.
The game is slanted away from snipers & foot soldiers.
Just witness the ease with witch armoured vehicles, planes & choppers, take out a ground soldier,it's not realistic to have a 100% kill rate when flying aircraft & killing foot soldiers on the move, yet, that's exactly what happens.
BF3 'was' the last EA\DICE game that I will ever buy, they do NOT listen to the BF2 players, who wanted true BF2 play in BF3,but were greatly let down by EA.
