Batman: Arkham City gets yet another new villain

Batman: Arkham City has just introduced a brand new villain ahead of its release next month, with Deadshot, the mercenary assassin from the Batman comic books joining the fray, while an executive with Rocksteady revealed that Scarecrow might not return from the first Arkham Asylum.

Batman: Arkham City is set to be a massive game, allowing players to take The Dark Knight all around a new section of Gotham City, fighting a variety of villains, ranging from the classic Joker or The Riddler, to the Penguin, Two-Face, Mr. Freeze and lots more.

Batman now has to add another villain to his hit list, as Rocksteady, the game's developer, has confirmed that Deadshot, a mercenary assassin from the comics, will also oppose the caped crusader when the new game will be released.

Deadshot is going to test out not only Batman's fighting skills, but also his detective ones, as he needs to track down bullets, determine their trajectories and pinpoint areas where Deadshot might lurk.

While yet another new villain is definitely great for the game, it seems that one of the most impressive parts of Arkham Asylum, the Scarecrow levels, might not appear in Arkham City.

"In Batman: Arkham Asylum we had the whole Scarecrow thing, and we didn't want to do that again we wanted something different," said Rocksteady's Paul Crocker, via Arkham City.

So, while that's not a confirmation that we won't see Scarecrow, his infamous levels definitely won't appear in Arkham City, probably replaced by something else. Sadly for fans of the villain, Crocker didn't reveal anything about Scarecrow or if he actually appears in the new title.

Considering almost all major villains from the Batman universe are in it, Scarecrow might be a pretty serious omission, even if he already appeared in Arkham Asylum.

Besides the villains mentioned above, the new title also features know allies of the Dark Knight, including Catwoman, playable during certain sections of the game, Robin, playable in the Challenge rooms, or Talia Al Ghul.
