Rocksteady Studios has just showcased a brand new trailer for its upcoming Batman: Arkham City video game, which depicts a confrontation between the Dark Knight and the infamous Riddler.

Batman: Arkham City is set to once again see players control the Dark Knight through a derelict section of Gotham, filled with criminals and various other factions that wish for Batman to be defeated.

We've already heard about quite a few characters that will be present in the title, from villains like Dr. Hugo Strange or the Penguin, to allies like Catwoman or Robin.

Now, Rocksteady, the developer of the title, has presented a new trailer focusing on the already confirmed Riddler, which, in Arkham City, will have a much more serious presence.

Players of the original Arkham Asylum were tasked with collecting Riddler trophies and solving quite a few challenges in order to unlock various rewards, talking with the Riddler only through a special radio.

Now, in Arkham City, a confrontation is pretty much confirmed, as Batman needs to take the villain down by solving a series of even more complicated puzzles and, of course, riddles, in order to save innocent victims from the traps of his Arch enemy.

Besides The Riddler, Arkham City might also feature other characters that have yet to be revealed, as Rocksteady Marketing Manager Dax Ginn confirmed to the Official Xbox Magazine that more announcements were coming.

We already know that the characters mentioned above are going to be present in Arkham City, alongside returning ones like the Joker or Harley Quinn, who were defeated in Arkham Asylum by the Dark Knight.

Batman: Arkham City is set to appear on October 21, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, and might also appear next year for the Nintendo Wii U, when the console is going to hit the global market.
