Wait for it at the end of summer

Comic books have offered a lot of material for other branches of the entertainment industry, spanning from movies to TV series. But the gaming industry hasn't been oblivious to them and has turned to them in order to get stories and heroes for different video games.

The most recent company to take on a comic book hero and give him the video game treatment is Eidos Interactive, which announced some time ago that Batman: Arkham Asylum would appear at the beginning of this summer. Hyped up as one of the biggest titles of this year, the game has now received some sad news, as the two companies involved in its development, Eidos and Warner Bros., have announced that it has been delayed.

“Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment can today confirm that Batman: Arkham Asylum will be released at the end of summer 2009,” reads the press release. “This additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers.”

Hopefully this will mean that the team at Rocksteady Games will have more time to polish up the title and make sure that we all get a great experience while playing as The Dark Knight. This also means that PC users will have more time to upgrade their machines in order to play it properly, as Eidos has also announced the minimum and recommended requirements.

Minimum

CPU: Intel single core 3 Ghz or AMD equivalent Memory: XP = 1 GB, Vista = 2GB GPU: Shader Model 3 NVidia 6600 or ATI 1300 or higher

Recommended

CPU: Pentium D 3Ghz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Dual core) Memory: XP = 2GB, Vista = 3GB GPU: NVidia 7900 GT or higher

The PC version of Batman: Arkham Asylum will support multi-core processors and will have the GamesForWindows service integrated in it, allowing for achievements to be implemented.
