Buffalo Games, the makers of multiple award-winning party games and jigsaw puzzles have teamed up with the Child Life Council in an effort to make life more fun and rewarding for children undergoing challenging life events. Buffalo Games will provide around 1,500 free games to approximately 470 hospitals nationwide offering child life programs. Games include award winning titles Imaginiff and Last Word.

As playing is the most common behavior for a child, few know that it is actually essential for growth and understanding the world they live in. Play facilitates healing, coping, mastery, self-expression, creativity, achievement and learning, and is vital to a child's optimal growth and development. Paul Dedrick, president of Buffalo Games stated: "These games appeal to a wide variety of people and will create hours of enjoyment with friends and family[...] These games are sure to lift spirits and put focus back on family fun"

Here are some details about 2 of the featured games: -Imaginiff: it was recently granted a Game of the Year Award by Creative Child Magazine in the category of party board games. The game also won the 4th Annual Teachers' Choice Award for the Family from Learning Magazine; -Last Word: it is focused on word play, recall and vocabulary has been the recipient of Creative Child Magazine's Seal of Excellence Award and was also named Toy of the Week by Playthings Magazine

Child life professionals strive to reduce the negative impact of stressful or traumatic life events and situations that affect the development, health and well-being of infants, children, youth and families, and it's nice to see that game making companies have teamed up with them and thought of other persons benefiting from games, than themselves.
