A Kmart circular reveals that the shop is going to sell Augen's Gentouch78 Android tablet for only $150 USD. Kmart is a mass merchandising company that offers customers products through a portfolio of exclusive brands and labels, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corporation. The shop's circular shows that the 7-inch tablet should be available thru July 31 with a $20 discount.

The Gentouch78 is a sleek Android-based tablet that features a huge 7-inch TFT touch panel screen, 800 Mhz processor, DDR2 256 MB and 2GB internal memory, SD/MMC expansion slots (up to 16GB), Wi-Fi connectivity with full Web browsing capability, Video Player, Picture Viewer (JPEG, BMP).

Augen's tablet supports Ebook formats (Text, PDF, E-PUB, HTML), as well as Media formats (MP3, WMA, FLAC, AAC). The Gentouch78 has an 800 pixel wide resolution screen, which allows web browsing in full width. Unlike the experience on other mobile devices (small screens and slow speeds), this tablet offers a smooth web browsing experience, with web pages displayed in full screen. Users won't need to zoom in and out as the text is easily viewable on such a large screen.

The Android-based tablet comes with a poor sales package that includes: Leather Carrying Case; USB Cable (for data transfers only); UL Certified AC Adapter.

Even though it's not one of the well-known electronics manufacturer, Augen surely worths a thumb up for its courage to develop such an affordable, but yet very functional tablet before other specialized companies. More tablets are yet to be announced by major manufacturers, this time featuring much better stats that could really keep up with the Apple's iPad.
