The US might be getting the Transformer Prime on December 19, but those of us living in Europe will have to wait until January for the tablet to arrive into our hands.

So far, the January availability has been confirmed by Asus offices in Sweden and Germany and Italy is now the latest country in the EU to join this list.

Even sadder is the fact that we aren’t talking about the beginning of January 2012, but rather about the end of the month, as Notebook Italia has revealed.

When exactly will the Transformer Prime go into retail in Italy isn’t known, but it’s clear that Android fans living in Europe need to look elsewhere it they want a tablet for Christmas.

When it will become available in Italy, the Prime will retail for 599 EUR which gets you either the 64GB version of the Asus tablet or the 32GB model and the keyboard dock.
