Ubisoft has just revealed its newest project in its extremely popular Assassin's Creed franchise, a Facebook exclusive application called Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy, which will offer players a taste of what they can expect in the upcoming, full pledged Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Assassin's Creed was one of the most ambitious titles of 2007, but it has really become a successful franchise with the launch of its sequel last year, which earned critical and sales success.

Now, as Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is preparing to be launched in November, and will introduce multiplayer to the whole experience, Ubisoft has detailed its new Companion Gaming initiative.

With it, Ubisoft plans on launching several social applications, based on the gaming franchises, that will enhance the level of immersion gamers can achieve with such titles.

The first big series to be involved in this strategy is Assassin's Creed, which has just launched the Project Legacy Facebook application.

Not only will it allow fans of the franchise to experience it right in the social network, but it will also unlock content and XP for the full pledged Brotherhood when it will be launched for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The strategy goes the other way around as well, with players of the actual game being able to unlock around 25 additional missions for Project Legacy.

The Facebook app is currently in beta stage, and you can visit it at this link.

All you need is a Facebook account and you too can experience the Assassin's Creed franchise.

The Companion Gaming initiative will also include Ubisoft's more casual franchises, like Petz World or Hamsterz Worldwide, which will allow inter-connectivity between the PC and DS version or the PC or iOS versions, respectively.

By doing so, people will continue to stay plugged into the gaming experience, no matter where they are.
