News is out that the Asiana Airlines pilot that crashed a plane at San Francisco International Airport on Saturday was on his first try at flying a Boeing 777.

As I previously mentioned, airline reps have stated that he only had 43 hours of experience on the plane, while clocking in thousands of hours on a 747.

Lee Gang-guk was helped by a co-pilot with 3,220 hours of 777 flight experience, Fox News notes. The AP mentions that this was also his first time flying from Seoul to San Francisco.

Officials are currently investigating on whether or not a human error was involved in the accident.

However, the pilots issued no distress signal before smashing into a seawall bordering. The crew tried to abort the landing after coming up to the runway at low speed and altitude.
