Fresh off the success of his double performance as the Winklevoss twins in “The Social Network,” actor Armie Hammer is about to start work soon on his next project: the role of Prince Charming in “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White.”

As of now, there are at least two separate “Snow White” projects in development: this one, from director Tarsem Singh, and “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which is supposed to bring a new twist to the classic story.

Armie has been cast as Prince Charming in the former and, as The Film Stage puts it, producers couldn’t have made a better casting choice.

Not only is he incredibly handsome and has a memorable voice, but he’s also very talented, which means he can easily face any challenge presented to him by the role.

“Armie Hammer, who was acclaimed for his portrayal of both Winklevoss twins (the Winklevi) in The Social Network, will be joining the film as Prince Charming,” The Film Stage reports.

“Appropriate, considering that he fits the adjective that will be bestowed upon his character (sorry), but also because he’s shown that he has great talent. Keep in mind, this is the guy who could play twins in the same shot, and people don’t even notice until they’re told what trick is being employed,” says the same e-zine.

So far, the only other name attached to the project is that of Julia Roberts, who will play the Evil Queen. Saoirse Ronan of “Atonement” is believed to be in negotiations for the role of Snow White, but it’s still too early to tell.

“While said to be ‘in discussions,’ her casting seems entirely plausible when you take into account her status as a rising star; her work is often acclaimed, and ‘Hanna’ seems like it has the potential to do some big business when it’s released on April 8th,” The Film Stage says of the odds of having Ronan for the part.

Production on “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White” starts in May, which means all casting choices will be made public until that date. The film is scheduled for release in June 2012.
