Thanks to its great/price performance ratio, Arctic's Freezer series of CPU coolers have come to be highly regarded by enthusiasts in search of an effective and not so pricey cooling solution, so many will rejoice when hearing that the company has announced a new version of the high-end Freezer 13, dubbed the Freezer 13 Pro.

Compared to the older version of the cooler, the new model features a bigger overall design, as Arctic has chosen to go with a 120mm fan instead of the 92mm that was previously used for the Freezer 13, leading to the increase of the heatsink surface cooler.

Furthermore, the Freezer 13 Pro carries what Arctic likes to call the “Cross-Blow technology,” a fancy name for a 50mm fan that is placed at the base of the CPU cooler.

This is destined to provide additional airflow to the northbridge, voltage regulators, and all the other chipsets that find themselves in close vicinity to the cooler.

The Freezer 13 Pro retains the same four U shaped, 8mm thick heatpipes featured in its predecessor, but the cooling capacity of the unit has been improved as it can now handle processors with a TDP of up to 300W, compared to the 200W rating of the older model.

Both the main 120mm fan and the smaller 50mm Cross-Blow fan are PWM-controlled and their rotation speed varies between 300 - 1350 RPM and 700 - 2700 RPM, respectively, the noise level being rated at 0.4 stone.

Just as it was the case with the regular Freezer 13, the Pro is compatible with a wide variety of sockets (AMD as well as Intel), features a push pin mounting design and Arctic has pre-applied some of their high-performance MX-4 thermal compound to the base of the CPU.

The Freezer 13 Pro comes with a 6-year limited warranty and is price is set at $54.90 USD or €39.90, depending on which side of the pond you happen to live.
