Nokia’s Asha devices – which have started to be called smartphones not too long ago – arrive on shelves with a nice range of applications already loaded on them, including 40 free games coming from EA.

Other appealing applications com preloaded on these devices as well, and Nokia Asha 311 is no stranger to them either.

In addition to the aforementioned apps and games, there is also the Angry Birds title that users will certainly enjoy a lot on this smartphone, also loaded on it right from the start.

Furthermore, there are tools such as Nokia Maps, along with a photo gallery packed with extensive editing features, and FM radio features that users can enjoy.

According to Nokia Conversation’s Boc Ly, however, other great apps can also be downloaded and installed on Nokia Asha 311, straight from the Nokia Store.

WhatsApp, the instant messenger service that is conquering the hearts of more and more users today, is available for Asha devices as well.

It comes in the form of the WhatsApp Series 40 Messenger, which works on all Asha handsets, though users will have to take care when enjoying its features, as it runs on cellular data.

Nokia Nearby is yet another great application for Asha 311, providing users with the possibility to easily find places near them, and proving to be a useful extension to Nokia Maps.

“Nokia Nearby helps you to discover places around you, whether that is restaurants, coffee shops, or other places of interest. I use it most often to find the closest ATM,” Boc Ly explains.

“It goes further than just highlighting places on a map – you can also read reviews of places, save them for later and even share them with your friends.”

There is also YouTube on Nokia Browser, with full screen video playback, as well as ESPN FC (formerly ESPNSoccernet), which provides live scores, results and football news straight to the Asha phone.

Users interested in learning more on what is happening around the world can take advantage of the CNN application available for their devices, or can open Nokia Internet Radio to access all the supported radio stations in the world.
