14 DAY TRIAL // Members of the iOS Developer Program are being offered iAd Producer, a digital tools set for creating “beautiful, motion-rich iAd content as easy as point and click,” Apple announced.
According to the Mac maker, “iAd Producer makes it easy for you to design and assemble high-impact, interactive content for iAd.”
Developers will be glad to learn that the software automatically manages the HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript behind an iAd to make creating easy as pie.
iAd Producer also comprises sophisticated JavaScript editing and debugging for advanced coders.
A powerful extension mechanism that enables devs to create and re-use their own page templates and components can also be found in iAd Producer.
The toolset has multiple modules, all of which are thoroughly detailed on Apple’s Developer web site at developer.apple.com/iad/iadproducer/.
The Visual Designer, for example, allows devs to choose the type of iOS device they're building for, while Producer gives them an overview of the structure and flow of the iAd. This includes a powerful visual editing canvas for each individual page.
Page Templates is an equally important side of iAd Producer, as it gives developers over a dozen page templates for essential page layouts.
There are advanced iAd page templates to be used as well. These include video carousels, maps, and interactive image galleries. Needless to point out, devs can supply their own artwork to create the ads.
Using pre-built animations and effects, developers can creating page transitions and animation on their page components as easy as choosing from the built-in library.
“You select the in and out animations for your pages or components, and control the timing to create the perfect effect,” Apple explains.
As with the iOS SDK, iAd Producer ships with a simulator which permits easy test driving and fine tuning of iAd projects.
“As you build your ad you can simulate it running on your desktop, or see how it runs over the local network on your target devices using the included iAd Tester iOS application,” Apple explains. “You can even test your ad over the carrier network using Apple's test servers.”
