A new version of AppBrain Android application was made available for download, namely version 5.0, with a nice range of enhancements, including the possibility to view a details page for each app.

According to the software solution's development team, the details page would load pretty fast, and all that users need to do to access it would be tapping on an app within AppBrain.

“This major update offers a details page for every app. It loads very quickly after tapping an app within AppBrain, and allows you to view all interesting information before deciding to go to the market to download an app,” the company notes.

In addition to offering info on any app'ss ratings, the new solution would also offer a tab with the related apps, which should prove quite helpful for those who are interested in learning more on applications similar with the software they want to download.

The new app page also allows you to really easily share apps with friends directly from your phone. The share button lets you share the app you're viewing through any sharing app that's installed on your phone, for instance Facebook or Gmail,” a recent post on the appbrain blog reads.

But this is not all in the new application version, as the development team also included the Fast Web Installer with the AppBrain app itself.

This solution will not only install the apps from the web, but it is also active within the application, which means that the AppBrain app will be able to install or update apps without requiring users to access the Android Market.

However, it appears that Google actually disabled the Fast Web Installer with the latest updates from the Android Market.

“We're sorry to report that Google has disabled the Fast Web Installer functionality in the latest update of the Android Market. (You can uninstall updates of the market to make fast web installer work again, but it seems the update keeps reinstalling automatically),” the company notes.

However, the dev team came up with a Fast Sync Widget, a simple widget through which users can sync the handset to AppBrain straight from the phone's homescreen.

“When there is a change detected, you're taken to the Manage-my-apps screen automatically, and from there it's convenient to batch install and uninstall the things you selected on the web and new app updates,” the company notes.

“In case there are no changes, there's just a message saying that. You can also directly start a search for an app from the widget.”
