Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Are Chic in Black at ‘Basterds’ Premiere

Angelina Jolie might have not made it on all best dressed lists this year especially because of her “safer” fashion choices in recent months, but that’s not to say she can’t rock the red carpet even without wearing something extraordinarily flashy. With Brad Pitt at her side, the star showed up for the Hollywood premiere of “Inglourious Basterds,” showing the entire world that, in their case, all-black ensembles on the red carpet are anything but a faux pas.

Just like Angelina, it has been said that Brad too can look good in almost anything. When they’re put together side by side, these two can do no wrong, especially if we’re talking fashion choices, since they almost always match their outfits, like any fashion savvy couple does. For the Hollywood premiere of Pitt’s latest movie, the two did the same, going for classic and timeless, albeit a bit too strict, black.

However, what they lacked in color they more than made up for in smiles, several US media outlets point out. Even if they hadn’t parted their lips to smile as they did, the two would have still cut an impressive appearance, what with Pitt decked in a black Tom Ford suit, while Jolie kept it edgy with a strapless leather dress (with pockets nonetheless) by Michael Kors, to which she matched high-heel gladiator sandals and oversized jewelry items by Christian Dior. This time, because the austerity of the dress would not have allowed it, she wore her hair combed back, with very little styling and even less makeup, which only made the contrast between her golden jewelry and the black dress sharper.

Since last time he walked the red carpet at an “Inglourious Basterds” limited premiere, Brad Pitt did so without Angelina Jolie, speculation about their relationship falling to pieces has been intensifying over the past couple of weeks. One of the most recent stories on the two has it that they’ve been fighting over the place where they want to be buried, with Jolie looking to settle the dispute right now, while Pitt finds it too morbid a topic to discuss at the moment.

“Angelina initially wanted to be buried beside her ex-husband Billy Bob [Thornton]. She bought his and hers cemetery plots in Louisiana but since then she’s changed her will. She’s been trying to persuade Brad to make a decision on where they should be buried but he thinks the whole thing is morbid.” an unnamed source was telling the media a short while back.

“Inglourious Basterds” opens nationwide in the US on August 21.
