Universal Pictures released the movie Wanted on the 27th of June and it is has already earned $192 million in worldwide box office thanks to its triple-A cast (James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie) and overall quality. It seems that we, all the gamers out there, will get an extra treat from the movie giant, since Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group announced Wanted - the game available "later this year".

This means that we're about to get the same adrenaline-pumping action and, if we are to believe what the developers said about the title, that it's in the works since early 2007, we would be tempted to think that we're finally going to get a great movie based on a video game. As an extra comes the fact that it will be developed by GRIN, a studio best known for its work on Tom Clancy: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter or the upcoming Bionic Commando.

"The team at GRIN has a proven track record of creating action games that push the envelope in terms of gameplay and combat," said executive game producer Pete Wanat. "With the Wanted video game, GRIN is creating entirely new gameplay mechanics and an experience that pulls no punches. Gamers and fans of the film alike will be blown away by the ability to curve bullets, pull off amazing combat sequences and literally conduct a symphony orchestra of action with the arsenal available to the most powerful assassins in the world."

GRIN's Wanted will not be a "play the movie" type of game - instead, it will come with a brand new storyline, picking up where the movie left off, providing fans with another chapter to explore both Wesley's journey into becoming a super assassin and the epic fiction of the Fraternity. Featuring breath taking third person action, the game promises to take combat to a whole new level, with moves from the movie (such as the "curving bullets" and "Assassin Time") and the best multi-layered cover system up to date.

Unfortunately, nothing was mentioned about seeing the stars of the movie featured in the game, which probably means that we'll get no Angelina Jolie. What a pity!
