The new app comes to the market as a subscription-free mobile IPTV viewer that offers the possibility to tune in digital TV channels around the world. Some of the main features of SPB TV include support for over 100 international live TV channels and for more than 20 languages, a TV browser with quick channel preview, full week's TV guide, Calendar reminders for TV shows, fast channel launching, picture-in-picture mode, “Transparent” on-screen controls, as well as full support of hardware button controls.
All owners of handsets running under Android 1.5 with HVGA screen resolutions can enjoy the new application, the company announced, adding that the SPB TV was also available for Windows Mobile 5 and later Professional and Standard edition handsets and for those powered by S60 3rd edition FP1 or higher, with QVGA, VGA, Square QVGA, and WVGA screen resolutions. The company offers a free version of the application, with limited functionality, as well as a full variant, which is priced at $9.95. Android users can purchase it from the Android market.
