14 DAY TRIAL // Owners of a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 smartphone out there can now try out the features and capabilities that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has to offer to them, courtesy of a port from the Galaxy S4 Google Edition (GT-I9505G).
Earlier today, screenshots showing the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean platform running on the Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 smartphone emerged online, suggesting that the update might arrive on devices in the not too distant future, and it seems that enthusiasts can already grab it.
According to the guys over at SamMobile, no changes were made to the software during the port to the original Galaxy S4 smartphone, and users should receive from it exactly the same experience as those who purchase the Google Edition handset will.
Of course, this is not official software, and it still requires for users to tweak their devices to install it, which is also voiding the warranty of the handset in the process.
Furthermore, users should keep in mind that the installation process requires for them to perform a factory reset of their smartphones, which means that they should back up all of their data before proceeding, so that no important files are lost.
The port is said to be working great with the Galaxy S4 smartphones, with all the features packed inside being fully operational. It appears that those who will install it will enjoy improved performance as well.
The ROM, however, cannot be installed via Odin, and users will have to load it on their devices manually, instead. Users will also need a custom recovery to have been installed on their devices for this to work.
For that, they should copy the ROM to the microSD memory card inside their phones, turn the device off, and enter recovery through holding the Volume Up + Home buttons while hitting the Power button to turn the device on.
