Users can install it on their rooted HTC One devices

Although HTC and Google made the stock Android-based HTC One smartphone available only two days ago, users can already download a custom ROM built on the software loaded on it.

The HTC One Google Edition was released with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system on top, capable of delivering almost a pure Android experience, though with a series of changes packed inside, at least when compared to the original OS release.

Thanks to the custom ROM, owners of HTC One devices willing to tweak them can also take advantage of the new functionality and capabilities that the new Google Edition smartphone has to offer.

For that, however, they will need a rooted handset, as well as a custom recovery installed on it, just as explained in this XDA-Developers forum thread.
