HTC Sensation users on Vodafoen's airwaves have now the possibility to enjoy a new software update on their devices, none other than the Android 2.3.4 update that started to roll-out on unlocked handsets roughly a week ago.

The new software update will arrive on devices as version 1.45.161.1 and should be delivered to all users as an over-the-air update.

According to the wireless services provider, HTC Sensation users will enjoy a nice range of enhancements and fixes as soon as they install the new update.

“A new maintenance release for the HTC Sensation is now available to Vodafone customers. This update is an Android platform update to 2.3.4 Gingerbread and introduces a number of fixes and improvements,” the wireless operator announced.

Thee list of enhancements included with the new software includes:

- Stability and performance updates
- Reduce heating in some scenarios by optimizing processor load
- Improve browser performance

Sensation was launched on the market with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board. Thus, the new OS upgrade brings only a small number of changes to it, none major.

As stated above, the new OS flavor will be pushed to users over the air, but users will also be able to perform manual checks to see whether the new software was made available for their devices or not.

“To see if the software upgrade is available, navigate from the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap Settings. Scroll down the screen, and then tap About phone > System software updates. On the System software updates screen, tap Check now,” Vodafone notes.

As soon as the update process was completed, users can check the software version on their devices through going to Settings > About phone > Software information > Software number.

Before proceeding with the installation, users should make sure that the battery on their devices is charged, and should also think about performing a backup of their personal files, so that nothing would be lost, provided that anything goes wrong during the process.(via)
