Alltel Wireless offers a one day opportunity for people to get familiar with wireless Internet services. It is an excellent marketing strategy, an innovatory one too, that is meant to awaken the customer's interest for Alltel's services.

The opportunity allows users with a Web-capable handset to shop online right from their mobile phones, without having to pay an extra fee to Alltel. They can download ringtones, wallpapers and ringbacks having to support only the expense of the purchase.

The trial mode offered by Alltel also includes information that is meant to stimulate the user's interest for all the services that he could receive by subscribing. Thus, snapshots of news, sports and weather appear while he is browsing in order to persuade him on the great amount of information that a subscription could bring him.

Wade McGill, senior vice president of product management for Alltel Wireless, expressed his opinion on the direction that Alltel is taking in terms of business opportunities: "Alltel continues to offer services that allow customers to easily integrate mobile content into their daily lives." Furthermore, "The introduction of the Day Pass option is another example of Alltel's commitment to give our customers the ability to control and customize their wireless experience." he concluded.

Alltel is America's largest wireless network and currently holds a number of 12 million customers. It offers mobile technology services that are meant to be at any time adapted to each user's needs. "Premium" one day Web access offered by Alltel can be purchased from the company's website for only USD1.49.
