Unveiled back in February, a few days ahead of Mobile World Congress 2012 trade fair, LG’s L-Style series of smartphones has been scheduled for a Q2 release.

The cheapest device in the series, the less-featured LG Optimus L3 has just been introduced in India. The smartphone is available for purchase through all leading retailers across the country for a suggested retail price of Rs 7899 (150 USD or 115 EUR).

Design-wise, the Optimus L3 is “super stylish as it sports a modern square style and a comfortable grip because of its slimmer design. It’s neat and flawless key arrangement helps in maintaining the simplicity and the comfort zone. With that the textured back design adds that extra to your style statement.”

As expected from a budget-friendly handset, the Optimus L3 doesn’t really stand out when it comes to specs.

The phone is powered by an 800 MHz single-core processor and packs 384MB of RAM, 1GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone sports a decent 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 262k colors support.

On the back, the smartphone embeds a 3-megapixel rear photo snapper that lacks autofocus and LED flash but features video recorder.

LG Optimus L3 runs Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and supports Wi-Fi and HSDPA (3.6Mbps), along with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi hotspot.

Last but not least, the smartphone drains energy from an 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 673 hours of standby time (640 hours in 3G mode) or up to 15 hours of talk time (8 hours in 3G mode).

On a side note, LG announced earlier today that the Optimus L7 Android phone would be rolled out globally starting this week.
