Sceptre has really managed to stay in the spotlight for the last couple of months by rolling out on quite a frequent basis new and improved HDTVs, the latest to join the club being the company's 42-inch 120 Hz LED HDTV, that joins Sceptre's Galaxy Series. Beside the screen size, other important display-related features of the Sceptre HDTV include the auto dynamic contrast enhancement system, with a typical 4,000:1 contrast ratio and response time of around 6.5 ms, as well as the 450 cd/m2 brightness level and 120Hz refresh rate, that seriously improves image quality compared to LCD displays, for example. The most prominent design feature of this particular model is the tempered glass swiveling stand, complete with classic beveled edges, that adds a new level of sleek dimension and class, since the glass allows light to shine through for added brilliance and sophistication. Moreover, the sleek 42-inch LED HDTV weighs just 38.6 lbs and is .9” and 1.75” at its thinnest and thickest points, respectively, meaning that it will only take a modest amount of space wherever users might decide to place it around the house. Also worth mentioning is the fact that the device saves about 36 percent more energy than comparable LCD HDTVs, while in the same time being wall mountable via the VESA MOUNT 200x200 solution placed on the rear side. The added bonus to this particular model is the 5 HDMI ports, which allow users to connect various peripherals, including Blu-ray players, personal computers, AV receivers and video game consoles. Three of these HDMI are located on the side of added convenience and the extra USB port allows for photo/audio enjoyment. The Sceptre Galaxy Series 42-inch 120Hz LED HDTV sells for just under 1,000 US dollars, which is, by all accounts, a pretty good price point, given this thing's overall features.
