Despite the very different speed in development between the PC and the Xbox 360, the teams working at 4J Studios and Mojang have plans to bring the entire adventure set of features to the home console versions of Minecraft.

Paddy Burns, who is co-founder of 4J Studios, told the Official Xbox Magazine that, "There are no big architecture changes with the move to 1.7.3, so it's been quite straightforward. The move to 1.8.2 is much more challenging."

"We are working with Daniel Kaplan at Mojang to define what is going in to the Xbox version, but the aim is to include as many of the PC features that make sense on the Xbox as possible. The game isn't Minecraft on the Xbox, it is Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, so it isn't really a direct port of the PC game," he added.

At the moment, the Xbox 360 is set to get a new update that will be similar to the beta version of 1.7.3 on the PC and it is very possible that the next update will be the one to introduce the adventure mechanics.

The PC based Adventure update, version 1.8 of the game, introduced the new free form Creation Mode, the Endermen as enemies, new kinds of building materials and a number of tweaks to the combat mechanics and the other resources.

Currently, Markus “Notch” Persson is no longer involved in the development of Minecraft, but the company still plans to add new features, with the most recent addition being an interface to allow gamers to trade items with villagers.

The Xbox 360 version of the game has quickly become the biggest title launched on Xbox Live Arcade, selling more than 1 million units in one week, while on the PC the game continues to move copies and has gone over the 5 million sales mark.
