Markus “Notch” Persson might no longer be directly involved with the development of the Minecraft PC version.

However, the game is not stagnating and the current leader of the team working on the game, Jens Bergensten, has signaled that he is working on an interface that will allow gamers to trade items with villagers.

The hint came via a Twitter message and it’s not clear how long it will take for the new feature to be implemented.

It’s also not clear whether the team working at Mojang has plans to also bring improvements made for the PC version of Minecraft to the Xbox 360 and how quickly they can do that.

Minecraft has been a hit so far on all platforms on which it was launched, with the PC version of the game moving more than 5 million copies since Notch began selling it, during the alpha process, and the Xbox 360 one setting a new record with sales of more than 1 million units.
