American Idol runner-up and current favorite with music lovers of all ages Adam Lambert is set for a splashing performance at this year’s American Music Awards, as Adam himself confirmed on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, cited by EW. The flamboyant singer will not be the only one to take to the stage on the night of the awards, as Lady Gaga will also put in an appearance and performance.

As fans must already know, Lambert is to release his debut album in November this year, and to say that it has generated plenty of publicity and anticipation is by now a clear understatement. Adam himself has repeatedly promised that the material will try not to disappoint his millions of fans around the world, saying it will be a combination of elements from many genres. Viewers of the AMAs will get a first taste of this, as Adam is to perform the first single off the album at the awards ceremony.

“Ryan Seacrest and Adam Lambert announced on Seacrest’s KIIS FM radio show this morning that the American Idol star is performing at the American Music Awards (AMAs), which will air on ABC Nov. 22. The singer will perform the first single from his as-yet-untitled upcoming debut album (due Nov. 24). The single has yet to be selected or released, but Lambert promised that it would be ‘glammy.’ ‘We’re bringing back a glam-rock kinda feel to pop music,’ Lambert told Seacrest.” EW writes of Lambert’s sit-down with Seacrest.

In the same interview, the singer also addresses ongoing rumors that he’s about to go on tour with Lady Gaga, who will also be performing at the AMAs. While the idea of sharing the same stage with the “Paparazzi” hitmaker certainly appeals to Adam, he’s in a position in which he has to admit that he has not yet been contacted by Gaga’s people with an offer. What this means is that Lambert will not turn out to be Kanye West’s replacement and that chances are Gaga will be touring solo, as promised.

Yesterday, Adam spoke to Rolling Stone about yet another song of his that would be dropping soon, “Time for Miracles,” off the score of the doomsday film “2012.” Poised to become what “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” proved to be for Aerosmith, the song was meant to “reach out and grab people by the heart,” Adam said.
