Video game publisher Activision Blizzard has announced that it will be organizing an event called “Battle of the NSCAR Kids” on November 19 – 20, allowing the families of the best pilots in the sport to virtually engage one another for a chance to donate 25,000 dollars to the NASCAR foundation.

The competition will be staged at the Homestead – Miami Speedway and will engage fans, drivers and their families.

Activision says that the event will promote the new NASCAR Unleashed video game but will also educate them about the sport and give them a chance to see some of their idols up close and personal.

The NASCAR kids will be coached by their dads and managed by their mothers as they try to become the first champion of the Battle of NASCAR Kids event.

Activision has said that the full list of competitors and coaches will be released next week, in order to give fans of the sport a chance to plan their racing weekend around the event.

David Oxford, who is the executive vice president of Activision Publishing, stated, “We felt it was time to shift the NASCAR video game franchise into high gear. The 'Battle of the NASCAR Kids' event will fully embrace the community and rally support for NASCAR and, best of all, a charitable cause.”

Unleashed will include 15 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers to choose from as players try to pick up the championship, with mechanics that tend more towards arcade then simulation.

Simulated tracks include the likes of Daytona, Chicagoland, Homestead-Miami, Martinsville and Talladega.

NASCAR Unleashed will be launched on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the Nintendo Wii and 3DS on November 1, giving all those who love the sport a chance to practice with the game before attending the Activision event in Miami.
