Motorhead amongst others

The month of June will be a busy one if you happen to own a Guitar Hero III : Legends of Rock videogame because Activision, gripped by the rock release insanity, is announcing that it plans to launch not one, but five downloadable song packs during the month. That's one every 6 days and no Guitar Hero player can get through the songs so fast.

Just because such a release schedule might be too much for some gamers, Activision has decided to detail only two of the song packs for now, and let mystery hang in the air just a little bit more regarding the other three.

The first pack is made up of three songs from hard rock legends Motorhead, that are also preparing to release a new album in the following months. As a preview of what's to come, they've decided to bring three of their earlier tracks to Guitar Hero III. If you get their song pack, which is out on June 5, you'll get to play for yourself "We Are the Road Crew", "Stay Clean" and "Mot?rhead", the first single ever released by the band.

The second pack, dubbed the Isle of Wight pack, includes a master recording of "Shoot the Runner" from Kasabian, which took the 2007 Isle of Wight Festival by storm, together with songs from Kaiser Chiefs and The Sex Pistols. Kaiser Chiefs contribute with their pumped up anthem "I Predict a Riot," but the clear star of this song pack is the track "Problems" by The Sex Pistols, which the band has contributed exclusively to Guitar Hero III. The pack is going to become available on June 12 on both Xbox Live Marketplace and on the PlayStation Network Store.

Activision hopes that the announced content, together with the other three packs that have not yet been revealed, will help gamers contain their guitar playing urges until the release of Guitar Hero: World Tour later in the year.
