Activision has announced that the multiplayer demo of Blur has gone live on the European PlayStation Network. To celebrate this launch, the publisher is organizing a competition that has as its biggest prize a real-life BMW 125i series car. Anyone who downloads the demo and ranks up to level 5 will be automatically entered into the contest. Three runners-up will receive a full copy of Blur for the PlayStation 3. Of course, players must be 18 years old to participate.

The sweepstake event will be taking place from the 4th of August until the 25th of August. The BMW 125 I coupé will be equipped with BMW Performance accessories that provide ideal driving dynamics and will have an alpine white color. It is powered-up by an six-cylinder in-line engine that can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.4 seconds. A fully-rendered 3D model of the car can now be seen in the Home Square in PlayStation Home.

This demo version of Blur has already been available in the United States and select countries in Europe since the 14th of July. It gives access to small selection of tracks that up to 20 players can race on and allows a glimpse of the multiplayer experience of Bizarre Creations newest racer since the Project Gotham Racing series.

Bizarre Creations is also working on James Bond 007: Blood Stone, a kind of a departure from the studio's usual focus. It is not a movie tie-in, but rather an original story that will be available only in video game format. The title will feature Joss Stone, who will provide the main theme, as well as act the proverbial Bond girl of the secret agent in the narrative. The gameplay will involve the traditional cover-based third person shooter mechanics, as well as some vehicle sequences. No release date has been revealed yet.
