Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a relative newcomer in Hollywood even though, to audiences outside the US, he’s already pretty much of a big thing. In May, when “Godzilla” comes out, we’ll find out if he has what it takes to become a “movie star.”

The 23-year-old actor, whose previous credits include “Kick Ass” and its sequel, “Anna Karenina” and “Savages,” has packed on a lot of muscle mass to play a military man in Gareth Edwards’ new “Godzilla” film, and you can certainly tell that if you look at the two photos in the gallery below.

They’re from the spread in the May 2014 issue of Men’s Health, which will also include tips on how to get definition like that. However, for the time being, the online preview issue only includes a quote from Aaron on how family life is like for him.

For those who don’t know, there was a lot of ruckus online some time ago when he and Sam Taylor-Wood stepped out in public as a couple for the first time. That’s because, back then, he was only 18 and she was 41, and many thought the age difference would eventually lead to disaster.

Today, Aaron and Sam are parents to two healthy children and have been married since 2012. He takes the same no-nonsense approach to married life as he did to the question of dating an older woman.

“That’s bull[expletive,” he tells Men’s Health when asked if married life has its challenges. “They’re not challenges. People are like, ‘Don’t you have to work really hard?’ And I’m like, ‘If you think it’s hard, you must be in a [expletive] marriage’.”

“Everything in my life before them was an escape. I went from one job to the next, film after film, just trying to escape. I grew up working in this industry. I did my first commercial at six. And from about the age of 10, I was doing films. I was a kid, but I was working around adults,” he continues.

The Men’s Health editor notes that Aaron looks pretty much like a 23-year-old would look (only more famous, we assume) but speaks as if he were 40. He’s mature beyond his years and doesn’t take himself too seriously, he doesn’t forget that, famous or not, he’s just a man – and one with responsibilities no less.

For Aaron’s tips to get into such amazing shape, check back here. Meanwhile, we have this photo of him working out with a tire.
