14 DAY TRIAL // Aaron Carter and Hilary Duff were the original “celebrity sweethearts” couple but they broke up when he cheated on her with Hilary’s friend Lindsay Lohan. Now that Duff is going through a divorce, Aaron is convinced that he has better odds at getting her back.
Moreover, he’s saying so on Twitter. Fans know that he hinted about it before, right over the weekend when Hilary announced she and Mike Comrie, her husband of 3 years, had decided to separate but, at the time, his tweets were rather too cryptic.
This time, Aaron is not beating about the bush anymore, tweeting a photo of his former flame when she was younger, captioned simply “Hilary duff is flawless.” That would be a statement most of us would agree with him on but, for Aaron the admission carries a bit more weight than it would with us.
“Don't be that stupid [expletive] – that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me…,” his next tweet reads. “I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don't care what ANY of you think.”
In his next tweet, presumably overwhelmed by fans’ reactions, Aaron admits that putting that out there on such a popular platform nearly gave him an anxiety attack. It seems that the admission has also made him realize he must have crossed the line, because all these tweets have already been deleted.

Aaron and Hilary dated for almost 2 years between 2000 and 2003. At that time, they were both at the height of their fame, and getting together seemed like a dream made in PR heaven – that is, until he started to misbehave.
Reports said that he started cheating on her and that she forgave him until she could no more. The breaking point of the relationship was finding out that Aaron had slept with Lindsay Lohan, who posed as Hilary’s friend. We all know that friends don’t sleep around with their friends’ boyfriends, but it seemed that LiLo didn’t get that memo.
After the breakup, which is said to have broken Hilary’s heart, Aaron continued to talk about her in various interviews. In one taken after she had announced she was expecting her first child with her husband Mike, the singer said he wished that could have been him with her, sharing such a special moment in her life, while expressing regret for having a great thing with her and tossing it down the drain.
It seems Hilary’s divorce has really rekindled that spark of hope in his heart, though whether she feels the same is unknown right now.
