We already knew that Samsung's high-end Galaxy S II smartphone was on its way to the United States Market, but little was known on the specific models that would arrive at the various wireless carriers in the country.

The flagship handset was already said to be on its way to the US market on the airwaves of all four major wireless carriers in the country, and AT&T was rumored to be one of them.

Today, what is said to be the Galaxy S II device for this wireless carrier has made an appearance into the wild, sporting a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

The new mobile phone should arrive on shelves with the model number SGH-I927 attached to it, while running under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

This seems to be the first slider in the Galaxy S II family of devices, but it should sport a thin form factor, similar with the one the original device features.

One thing that should be noted is that, although the handset is said to be a member of the Galaxy S II family, it might not arrive on shelves at AT&T with this moniker in tow.

For the time being, specific info on this, as well as details on the possible release date for the new device were not made available.

However, rumor has it that the smartphone might be launched as soon as August, the same as would other specific models of Galaxy S II.

Verizon Wireless is expected to have its own flavor of the mobile phone available for purchase as soon as next month as well, and was rumored to be the first carrier to launch such a device.

With Galaxy S II already proving highly popular in various markets around the world, it was somehow expected that Samsung would make it available for purchase in the US soon, and more info on the matter should emerge in no time, so stay tuned.
